The MiFi 500 LTE runs on the Sprint
network, which offers a substantially smaller amount of reliable 4G
coverage than Verizon or AT&T. The MiFi battery lasts up ten hours
and can be replaced by the user.
Up to eight devices can join your network
while you're using the Clear Spot. Though coverage is limited to the
U.S., data speeds are decent and the plans are reasonably priced.
The innovative idea behind the Karma hotspot is its network's
constant openness. Strangers can sign in to the Wi-Fi at any time and
use up to 100 mb free of charge. The catch: the device's owner also gets
100 mb (hence the "karma" aspect).
We like how Karma doesn't offer monthly plans, instead lets your
purchased data roll over from month to month. If you only download half
of your allotted data in August, your unused portion is credited to you
in September.
Now supporting Sprint's 4G LTE network, FreedomPop offers users 500
mb of free 4G data. By free, we mean free. You don't have to pay for it.
More traditional monthly plans can also be purchased through the FreedomPop, including a 2GB plan for $19.99.
